Understanding the recommendation

The right decision for each wisdom tooth.

Wisdom teeth can grow at an angle or remain partly or fully beneath the gums. Some develop decay, gum problems, or symptoms that need attention. Their position may also affect the tooth beside them.

We use your examination and imaging to understand the position of each tooth and its relationship to nearby structures. Together, we review why removal may be helpful, whether monitoring is appropriate, and what the recommended procedure would involve. Removal is not automatic for every wisdom tooth.

Prepared, supported, informed

A clear plan before the day of treatment.

Your comfort

Local anesthetic numbs the area. If you would like additional support for anxiety, ask about sedation. Your health history and treatment plan help determine the appropriate approach.

Your preparation

We explain any eating and drinking instructions, medication guidance, and escort arrangements that apply to you. Share your questions before the appointment so you know what to expect.

Your recovery

Soreness, swelling, and a temporary change in the foods you can comfortably eat are common. We provide instructions for protecting the extraction sites and explain when to contact us.

A little more clarity

Questions you may be considering

Do all four wisdom teeth need to be removed?

Not necessarily. We consider each tooth's condition, position, symptoms, and risks. Your recommendation is based on your individual assessment.

Can more than one wisdom tooth be treated at a visit?

Often, yes. The number treated together depends on the work needed, your health, and the comfort plan. We review the sequence with you before treatment.
