A snap-on denture attaches to dental implants through small retention components. It is designed to reduce denture movement while allowing you to remove it for cleaning.
The implants remain in your jaw. The denture connects to them with attachments and inserts that require periodic maintenance. The number and position of implants depend on your treatment plan.
For someone frustrated by a denture that shifts, implant retention can make everyday conversations and meals feel more manageable. It remains a denture, with a removable design and an ongoing care routine.

Clean the denture and implant attachments as instructed, and keep your follow-up appointments. Retention inserts wear with use and may need replacement. Your denture may also need adjustments or other maintenance as your mouth changes.
Build a comfortable daily routine
Practice seating and removing the denture with your team. Clean both the denture and the attachments, and follow your clinician’s instructions about overnight removal. Never force a denture that no longer seats correctly.
Know what needs a review
Implant treatment has risks, including infection, failure to integrate, and injury to nearby nerves or sinus structures. Persistent or worsening pain, swelling, or a loose restoration needs professional assessment. We explain the risks relevant to your plan.

Your treatment estimate depends on the arch being treated, implant plan, any preparatory care, and the restoration selected. We review the proposed care with you so you can make an informed decision.
Ask what your estimate includes
Review imaging, any extractions or grafting, implants, attachments and the denture, sedation if planned, and follow-up visits. Ask which items are separate.
Plan for care beyond delivery
Ask about professional maintenance, replacement inserts, adjustments, and relines, and any applicable warranty terms. Financing is available to explore, subject to the provider’s terms and approval.

Are snap-on dentures fixed teeth?
No. The implants stay in your jaw, but you remove the denture for cleaning as instructed. A fixed full-arch bridge is removed by your dental team. Both options need daily hygiene and professional maintenance.
Can my current denture be used?
Sometimes. We assess the denture’s fit, condition, strength, bite, and space for the attachment housings. A new denture may be recommended if conversion would compromise the result. Bring your current denture to your consultation.
How many implants will I need?
Upper and lower jaws need separate planning. The amount and quality of bone, implant positions, bite, denture design, and desired support all matter. We explain the proposed number and why it suits your mouth rather than applying one number to every patient.
Will I still need adhesive?
The implant attachments retain the denture without adhesive at the connection. If your denture feels loose, book a review rather than using adhesive to mask a worn insert or a fit problem.
Will the attachments wear out?
Retention inserts are serviceable parts and can wear with use. They may need replacement, while changes in your mouth can require denture adjustments or relining. Your team checks the fit and attachments at maintenance visits.
Can I snap the denture in immediately after surgery?
Not necessarily. Attachment timing depends on implant stability and healing. Your plan should explain what you will wear while healing, when the denture can be connected, and how you will eat and clean during each stage.
