All-on-4 / All-on-6 uses multiple implants to support a fixed set of replacement teeth for an upper or lower arch. Your dental team removes the bridge when needed; you do not take it out each night.
Four or six implants may be used, depending on the clinical plan. For suitable patients, a fixed temporary set of teeth can be fitted on the day of surgery. Same-day fixed teeth depend on the condition of the bone and the stability achieved at placement.
Each implant is a foundation in the jaw. Connectors link those foundations to a bridge that replaces a full arch of teeth. The teeth, bite, and implant positions are planned together.

Extractions and implant placement follow your individual plan. If a fixed temporary bridge is appropriate, we fit it; otherwise, we discuss the planned alternative for healing.

Monitor healing and refine the smile
Follow-up appointments allow us to review healing, fit, speech, appearance, and bite. Dietary instructions protect the implants and temporary teeth during this stage.

Deliver the final teeth
When healing allows, we complete the final restoration, confirm the fit and bite, and show you how to clean around and beneath it.
Temporary teeth and final teeth have different roles.
A provisional bridge supports the transition while your implants and tissues heal. Your final bridge is completed after clinical review, with attention to tooth appearance, bite, speech, and hygiene. Healing commonly takes months; your individual timetable may be longer.

Some soreness, swelling, or bruising can occur. Follow your written instructions for prescribed medication, cleaning, food texture, and activity. Arrange recovery time around your procedure and work, and contact the team if symptoms worsen or concern you.

Follow-ups let us review healing, bite, speech, and comfort. A bridge feeling secure does not mean the implants have finished healing. Continue the prescribed diet until your team advises otherwise, and attend the reviews needed before final teeth.

Your written estimate should identify the arch or arches being treated and the total proposed fee. A per-arch price is for one jaw, not both. Additional procedures and ongoing maintenance should be clearly identified before treatment begins.

Will my teeth look natural?
We plan tooth shape, shade, position, and any gum-colored portion of the bridge around your face and preferences. The aim is a smile that feels like you. During the provisional stage, tell us what you notice about appearance, speech, and bite so these can be reviewed before the final restoration.
Will I be asleep for treatment?
Your comfort plan is discussed before surgery. Sedation options depend on your health and procedure; not every form of sedation means being fully asleep. Local anesthesia numbs the treatment area. We explain preparation, monitoring, recovery, and escort requirements for the approach recommended to you.
When can I return to work?
Plan recovery time with your team before booking surgery. The extent of treatment, your healing, sedation, and the physical demands of your work all affect timing. Arrange help and transport where needed, and follow your individual instructions rather than a fixed return-to-work promise.
Will I leave surgery with fixed teeth?
For suitable patients, a fixed temporary bridge can be fitted on the day implants are placed. That decision depends on your bone, the stability of the implants, and the treatment plan. We discuss an alternative healing option in advance if immediate fixed teeth are not appropriate.
Are the first teeth my final teeth?
Usually, the first fixed teeth are a provisional bridge used during healing. The final restoration follows once the implants and tissues are ready. This gives us an opportunity to review your bite, speech, tooth shape, and appearance before completing your smile.
Is All-on-6 always better than All-on-4?
No. More implants are not automatically the right answer. The choice depends on available bone, implant distribution, your bite, the planned bridge, and access for daily cleaning. We explain the reasons for your recommendation.
Can I eat normally straight away?
Your new teeth need protection while the implants heal. Follow the food textures and timetable your team prescribes, even if the bridge feels secure. Progression to firmer foods depends on your healing and clinical review.
What if I have been told I do not have enough bone?
A consultation and appropriate imaging help establish your options. Some patients need additional treatment, a different implant plan, or an alternative to a fixed bridge. A previous opinion does not replace a current assessment, and a consultation cannot guarantee candidacy.
Does a fixed bridge need maintenance?
Yes. You clean around the implants and beneath the bridge daily, and attend professional reviews. Your dental team removes the bridge when clinically needed. Teeth, screws, and other components may need repair or replacement over time.
